    Durability of DIS-to-UMA conversion

    Dear Technicians,

it is well known that graphics chip reflow or reball has a short durability of about a few months.
now I have got these questions that:
    - how long is a graphics chip replacement expected to last?
    - how long is a DIS-to-UMA conversion expected to last?

    thanks

since DIS-to-UMA conversion is done in a non-standard way, how long is the laptop expected to work fine?

Since most of the conversions is done in factory provided maner, it will last as it was UMA from factory...Uma uses CPU integrated graphics which is proven to be reliable so far...At least with Intel cpu`s...

Graphics chip replacement should also last 2+ years, if the chip you are getting is really new, not faked (remarked with newer datecode). So make sure you filter your suppliers...

My favorite chip sellers are ic-chipset.com (order directly from their site) and see-ic on ebay. A bit pricey compared to what you can find on aliexpress, but if you're skimping on a few bucks there, you will have trouble later on. Don't ask me how i know.
