Macbook Pro 820-3115 board noob troubleshooting

Hello everyone, first time I ever try to get really down and dirty with troubleshooting to fix my girl's wine stained computerr
We too broke at the moment to send it for repair/buy new board so I've been swallowing all of Louis Rossmann's videos to the point where he shows up in my dreams. Every night.
Now I think I've cornered the problem somewhat but I'm a bit stumped, and before watching ten more videos that tell me to look for one of the 300 one wire video circuits, I thought I'd ask for help.

So. My findings: computer doesn't turn on. Magsafe green light is on, except if battery is connected. Battery levels on the side button light up only if charger is connected.
The top half of the board seems to get quite hot whenever connected to the magsafe. Which, uh, shouldn't happen right?

PPBUS_G3H has about 1.5V running through it. PP3V42_G3H is fine.
Now the weird thing happening around the one wire circuit:
U6900 seems to be receiving its 3.4V fine, but the U6901 logic gate A and B inputs are not getting anything (zero comma something). Which is damn weird - how can U6901 output anything if it's not getting anything at A and B?Following Louis' videos it seems to be an AND gate and it should be getting 3.4 as well.

Now if i follow SMC_BC_ACOK back from the logic gate to the CHGR_ACOK output at U7000 I'm also not getting anything of course. But at the input to U7000 after the voltage divider (CHGR_ACIN at pin 3 of U7000, or after R7010) I'm getting 3V instead of 4.

After cleaning the wine off rubbing some alcohol (it's a very drunk board by now which might explain things) I don't see any obvious damage. But then again I'm encumbered with a poor selection of tools - a shitty magnifying glass, an analog multimeter with no diode mode and a sewing needle taped to the positive end, insuficient lighting and lack of a trained eye.

That's all I've gathered so far. If anyone has a hint I'd be very very grateful.

You may have a shorted diode allowing power to backfeed into circuits it shouldn't be. Get a meter that has a diode function.

Also posting pics of the relevant sections of the schematic may help others to help you.

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
      by envym
      Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

A noob needs help for Apple Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 - logic board short circuit
      by Guest
      Hello all!

Recently I've got a broken Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 of eBay with a broken screen and not turning on issue.

After some tinkering I've found C5201 capacitor to be blown. This is where I hit a wall since I am a total noob in this area and have no idea what else to look for. C5201 is on one line with 3 more capacitors which visually seem ok, but beep on continuity mode and also both sides of all capacitors beep when tested with ground from the board. This to me sounds like a short, but I am not able to find what component is before the capacitors to test it....

      c. Reboot, connect to the network to Activate Mac.
      d. Plug the C cord in the first port of the MacBook into the other Mac, then power off the MacBook
      d. Hold down the Control (L) + Option (L) + Shift (R) + Power key combination for 10 seconds
      e. Release the other keys, but keep holding the Power key for another 10 seconds

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
      by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
      • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
        • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
      • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
        • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
      • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)
        • This

      by obelix24
I’m working on one macbook air 15” m2 that was water damaged.

keyboard, lcd, microphone connectors were damaged so i’ve replaced all of them and without screen connected macbook worked fine. Keyboard &trackpad and also lid sensor was working fine.

i’ve put macbook in shelf and order new screen so i can fully repair it.

Now i got the screen and macbook stays at 5v 0a.

i’ve tried if it’s not in DFU with another macbook but it’s not detected at all.

i don’t have schematics so i don’t know where to start can someone help me?...
