why do i think that its a filter cap and it will work without?
Just cook it! It's already broken.

      It is inductor...marking HU-1M2012-121JT

you can put a pair from different board it will work...

Do you have a diagram or you did something similar?
        That was spot on.

Well you can see it from first picture...Missing component is in parallel with standing inductor...Just by looking traces it is all conected to positive lead of dc connector...Filter cap should be connected to the ground from one side, but you can se that the ground side trace is clearly separated... This is very common on these boards...here is diagram from similar board :

You can take it from ny board you have in stock that has input LC filter next to the connector...It really is not that importaant as many laptops doesn`t really have it...A piece of wire could work but it is not professional...

In theory your laptop should work even without second inductor but it could cut off due to overload...

Repairing Kenwood XR900-5 car audio amp. Can't identify missing part
                  by mitsu2k
Hello folks, I am trying to repair this Kenwood XR900-5 power amp. Someone else had previously worked on this amp and tore off a transistor (Q982, pad and all) and I cannot identify what it was without a schematic or service manual. The one near it is an 2SCR533 NPN. I am wondering if the missing one is likely to be the same or a PNP? Can anyone make a good guess based on the photo?...

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
                  by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...

Samsung un49m5300af - identify weird part
                  by itelite
Hey, working on this (seemingly very cheap quality) Samsung.

One half of the bottom LED strip is out. All Leds test perfectly, and i have determined the problem as this part in series being open. All working strips this part reads 0 ohm and the strips work great. As this part is causing then open circuit the series LEDs are not lighting.

I have done tons of LED replacements on strips over the years and have never seen this thing before.

Any ideas? Is it a 0 ohm resistor? A Fuse? Something else entirely?
