Samsung un49m5300af - identify weird part

Hey, working on this (seemingly very cheap quality) Samsung.

One half of the bottom LED strip is out. All Leds test perfectly, and i have determined the problem as this part in series being open. All working strips this part reads 0 ohm and the strips work great. As this part is causing then open circuit the series LEDs are not lighting.

I have done tons of LED replacements on strips over the years and have never seen this thing before.

Any ideas? Is it a 0 ohm resistor? A Fuse? Something else entirely?

They are some sort of overvoltage protection devices. There has been discussion about them on the forum but I can't remember exactly what they are.

    Edit
Ignore my comment. I just notice it's the item in the black square you are referring to and I must admit I don't know what that is.

The best i have been able to come up with is it may be something called a "wire in air" fuse (PCB making W1). No markings whatsoever and no way to purchase such an item, so i measured current on the good strips and put a normal SMD fuse in place. It ran for a few hours before i turned it off and left for the weekend. So i think it should be fine in the long term, but im going to give like 12 hours on monday before i button it up and send it home.

Weirdly there is also a diode in series with every LED as well. Never seen anything like it.
