[*]check the power adaptor try another good
    [*]check the power button
[*]with the schematic diagram check the 3 and 5volt page 45 on the sch pl44 and pl50 voltage must be 3.3V and 5volt if there is no voltage check without adaptor for short
    here i upload the schematic
    good luck

Re: dell latitude e5400 power problem

there was some changes in numbers
my board is a business class
i have found the PWM chip pu79 SN0608098
        all check points were good
        1.3, 2.0, 3.3, 5.0, volts
there was broken resistant PR650 connected to pin 19 "PR659 on the schematics"
with value 10.3 K and it has something to do 5.0v VCC or 5V_ALW_2
schematics did not mention exactly PR650 but it is in the same position of PR659
also the track is lost hopefuly i was able to discover the lost track wider than the resistant size
        10R3 means 10.3 K right?
        whant could be done
apreciate your help and your time

          good news,
i think the resistor PR650 is ok 10R3=10.3 OHM
          check PU80.5=3.3VOLT PU80.7=5VOLT
          try with this schematic diagram

Hello, I am looking for a functional BIOS dump for a Dell Latitude E5400.
                        Machine Specifications:
                        Brand: Dell
                        Model: Latitude E5400
Motherboard Model: FOOSE INTEL 14 MB 07236-1 (48.4X703.01)
Service Tag / Serial: Unknown (Label is missing from the chassis.

The laptop currently shows a black screen upon power on. No logo or BIOS access is possible. I have already tried basic troubleshooting without success and suspect a corrupted firmware.

I have attached my original backup for reference .
Thank you for your time and assistance.

                            by xzomboex19x
I have a Dell latitude 5590 of unknown history. exterior looks mint/ barely worn but it is completely dead. I am a complete novice in board repair but do have a background in small appliance repairs so not a complete noob, but close. I have done the usual things i know of o try and revive d dead laptop for example opened up the laptop, disconnected the battery, RTC battery and while unplugged form the charger shorted out the battery pins in the RTC BATT connector. and this has not changed anything.

I took out and re seated the RAM modules and no difference.
                            I took out my multimeter...

Dell latitude e7470 not turn on .power buton on off and Run Power problem
                            by masoksian
                            Hi everyone,

I am dealing with the problem of turning on and off my Dell e7470 notebook.

The battery charge light is solid white, I press the button, the power indicator and the light on the button are solid for 1-2 seconds and immediately turn off.

The system does not turn on, there is no post.

I removed the RAMs and changed them, changed the battery, RTC battery, AC adapter, removed them and waited, tried again, it does not turn on.
The problem continues in the same way.
I tried to turn on the Fn key, nothing came to the screen....

Dell Latitude 5501 LA-H182P wont power on
                            by ARS
Board was water damaged with short on 13,5V power line.
After celaning and removing short on board i have 5v, 3,3v, 1v, 1,8v but no reaction to power button. Its same if i use USB-C or normal power supply.
No shorts detected (only CPU power is 1.2 Ohm, but thats OK i think) no other water damage found.
Tried to flash BIOS, no change.
After pressing power button i get orange light in front (no light on power button LED) as long button is pressed.
                            Advice needed.
                            TIA Matus.

it doesn't power on or show any sign of life so i removed the battery and tried again,
the power button lights up for 12 seconds then goes out, no keyboard lights or anything on the screen
                            i have checked
pin 3 on ISL 88738 and it has 13.5v
                            pins 2,3,4+5 on PU100 all 13.5v pin 17=3.3v
                            pin 17 on PU102 = 3.4v pin 3=13.5v and pin15 =5.1v
                            on UT2 pin 8=3.2v
                            on UT6 pin 8=3.2v

the charging circuit draws 19-20v for a limited time...
