Android based mobile phone and tablet does not see wifi network

hi

i have an older htc touch pro 2 sprint service mobile phone and i have an application on it that makes it work as a wireless router

i just power phone on and open the app and hit start and the mobile phone is now a wireless router and i use my laptop to access the internet almost every day via this.....it sees it in available netowrk list and i just access since its a secure network i enter the access code and im on...it works decent ....

however ....i have a non activated android based mobile phone htc evo and an android based tablet pandigital that when i turn on wifi .....it does not see my wirelss router access point via my mobile phone as described above

why is that???....every laptop i have used sees the phone as a router wifi network fine and even my older iphone 3 sees the phone as a router wifi network

why are the 2 android devices not seeing the wifi network at all?>...i pick up other wifi networks with the android based devices but for some reason not my mobile phone as a router wifi access point


please help me.....

i found this when i googled my issue just now...it does say 802.11 ad hoc in settings on my mobile phone as router....so maybe this is an issue?

no android based phones or tablets are able to see or connect to adhoc type wifi networks...period!!!!

^ with root and a proper network manager they can. With stock BS, no way in hell. Hence why i run Sailfish....
