Dash Camera voltage regulator - need ID

This camera worked for couple months and then stopped, it was weird because it started blinking like it was trying to turn on, then off and so on. When unplugged from charger, it was running OK on battery. I tried another charger, it looked like it worked, but time would reset time any time when unplugged. Also there is button to turn IR night light and camera would freeze any time I tried to turn them on. I used it with new charger for few more weeks (I didnt care much for time settings or IR lights), but now it started to blink on/off again. Then charger burned. I opened camera and found burned regulator. I cant see any marks because plastic was destroyed, so I took some old board from MP4 player that also work with USB charger and on 3.7 battery, found regulator that looks the same and changed it. Appears to be working now and even keeps time and I can use IR lights without camera getting frozen.

I wonder if I can leave it like that or maybe somebody can ID original part.
On pictures: 1st pic - shows A1GL I took from player and replaced unknown burned one.
Pic #2 - full camera board and this regulator circled in red.
Pic #3 - player board and previous location of A1GL is circled with red.

Also, since both charges got burned, is it possible that problem not with camera, but with 12V power supply from car? And it makes charger malfunction, and then burned voltage regulator?
Or charger can be burned by malfunctioning camera it supplies voltage to? Fuses on both chargers was OK.

Just trying to find out to not burn any more charges if problem is with 12V supply from car, or if I will get new camera, dont want to burn it too.

No way it was the car... If it was it would be caused by crap design of the camera... a car's 12V system can swing as high as 18v on older vehicles! Newer i think is around 14.8v...
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Camera uses USB car charger, charger plugged in 12V car system and transfers it to 5V that camera uses. I know its cheap camera and already got refund since it failed, just trying to fix it because I like to fix things , also trying to find out what caused damage before I will buy new one if this one will fail again.

"Charger" is actually main power supply, battery would not last long, also camera detects when car starts and charger gets power to turn on automatically, also shuts down with car too. This why I have it running from charger all the time and battery is just back up.

I was responding to your idea of the car having problems...

Yes, I know, thank you for response, I just wanted to describe better how this set up works to rule out car power supply before I'll do anything else.
