Asus N71jq black screen, not booting

I've tried connecting it to another monitor, but there's just no image being displayed on any screen. After I press the power button, the fan starts, the hard drive seems to be active, but it never boots into windows, as pressing the power again turns it off instantly, instead of going in a shutdown sequence. I've tried removing as much hardware from it as possible, but it still doesn't help.

At this point, I'd like to look for a service guide for it, try to check if my voltages are right. Any idea where I could find one?

Next step would be trying to send it for some time in the oven, as I guess the soldered video card must be defective, and there's not much else to do.

When you connect to another monitor did you press FN and F4 to connect to external sometimes instead of F4 it is a different key check your laptop manual.
Do you have battery led on ?
    If not flash the bios
If yes most probably is the GPU but needs more tests.

It usually at least showed the post screen on every monitor.
      Battery led works as expected.
Without seeing what's happening, how can I flash the bios?

Just letting people visiting here know, letting the motherboard cook at 385 F for 8min did the job, it managed to stay open overnight, I could even bring it to school today

            Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

ASUS X201e - The screen does not turn on and remains black
            by andrestecno
            Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with an intermittent problem and can't find a solution. Sometimes my notebook starts up and everything works fine. However, after I turn it off and try to turn it on again, the motherboard starts, but the screen stays black. It seems like the notebook freezes and a green LED with a light bulb icon stays on.

If anyone has the service manual or any suggestions on how to fix this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

            Thanks in advance!

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

            Hello everyone !

My name is Chris, I am a 30 years old embedded software developer working in the automotive industry. I am really passionate about learning new skills and repairing/crafting stuff. I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...
