Lenovo x220 Backlight Not Turning on

    Hi all,

I have a Lenovo x220. At one point in time, the backlight worked, but the lcd had a vertical line through the screen. Upon reseating the connector from the motherboard to the ribbon cable, the backlight ceased to work. I figured that it was simply poor timing that the backlight went out and I ordered a replacement panel off ebay. Unfortunately, the panel arrived and exhibited similar symptoms of the backlight not turning on.

I have tested fuses on the mothboard around the connector and fuses on the panel's board and was unable to discover any shorts.

My next step is to test the ribbon cable for loose connections and also the voltages at the test points on the panel, but I am open to any other suggestions. Thanks

I give you advice, NEVER manipulate the fexible cable of the screen on your computer with voltajes. Always disconnect battery or power adapter 3 minutes before, Search the fuse. there is OPEN . Are very very little

Lenovo V15 G3 No Backlight after liquid damage
      by techpointhull
      Good morning guys,

I have a Lenovo V15 G3 that came in with liquid damage. The damage was very minor and some corrosion on the IO board where the power switch was. After cleaning both the motherboard and IO board in alcohol, the laptop turned on and I had backlight for about 3 seconds but nothing further. I don't have a boardview for this laptop (Have requested this in the Schematic Request section), however from previous experience on Lenovo laptops I have checked pins 1, 2, 3 on the EDP connector. When the battery is connected only, I get 8V and when AC adapter is connected, I get...

      Hello!

The image is visible, but there is no backlight! On older Lenovo laptops, this problem could have been solved by replacing a fuse, but now I can't find the solution!

      Lenovo V14-ADA - No Backlight
      by RetroComputingGrotto
I've got a Lenovo V14-ADA laptop with no backlight. I have changed the whole screen assembly from a known working one in our Spares and Repairs tub but to no avail as there is still no backlight on the screen.

Using a DMM I have tried to find the 20V power rail (it's a Lenovo so they tend to use 20V rather than the more normal 19V) on the screen connector but on pins 1 & 2 I'm getting 0V.

I have tested the continuity of the fuse (F2) and it is open circuit.

Is there anything I should be testing a this point or is it just...
