    HP Chromebook with Trackpad Issue

    Have a HP Chromebook D9V14EA#ABU

Some keys on keyboard not working and trackpad really laggy and sometimes unresponsive!
It seems that with these a particular update caused some problems with the trackpad but this one is past that update..

Checked with usb keyboard and mouse and both were fine, i assume a a hardware issue and order parts, installed the keyboard and it works fine, full front comes then with trackpad included, installed and running perfect...until i lay the keyboard down and then the trackpad goes all laggy again, lift keyboard up and its fine again, down then laggy..
Both on seperate flex cables - whats causing this? it is metal on metal between back of keyboard and where it sits - should i put an insulating layer between the two or whats the best solution..?

    Thanks..

        Hello guys!
I have a strange issue with my laptop keyboard and I'm lost trying to detect what's wrong - the KB9028Q-C or the keyboard itself.
It powers on OK and has no other issues except the following:
        • CAPS LOCK does not work at all
        • Fn button toggles Flight Mode
        • When I press 't' or '5', it produces 't5', and when I press 'y' or '6', it produces 'y6'
        • (with SHIFT pressed: 't%' and 'y^' respectively)
I initially thought it was a keyboard malfunction (internal short, etc.),
but when I press and hold...

820-02020 Super Weird Issue: Keyboard Input Character Map "Wrong"?
        by ugamazing
So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:

        1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.

        2. I noticed the keyboard layout/input-source is defaulting to JAPANESE every single time I restore the board. I am not...

lenovo yoga 7 14itl5 keyboard and trackpad issue
        by kjchatman
i've done several clean installations of windows 10 and 11 to try to resolve why the keyboard and trackpad only works in the bios setup. there are no errors in the device manager. since they work in the bios setup then can i assume that this is a software issue?

Lenovo Chromebook with peculiar keyboard issue
        by trepachka
This chromebook I have exhibits strange behavior that I am unable to figure out. Pressing certain keys on the notebook keyboard, for instance "Control", "t" or "c" by itself will restart the notebook. If I press "2" key, a string of "345789" will show up. I have replaced both the keyboard and the motherboard and the notebook continues to have the same issue. Even with the original motherboard installed, I can attach an external keyboard and it will work just fine but not on the internal keyboard.

What could it be? The storage drive?...

        MBA13 M3 2024 A3113 EMC8611 820-03285 No Trackpad No Keyboard (water damaged)
        by guzq
        Hi Guys,

This Mac come with dead issues (severe water damage), now it’s turning ON except Trackpad and Keyboard not working.

Already check and write down DM for JT400 and JT201 don’t find any abnormal value (I don’t have unit for compare).

        Already try,
        • Replacing Trackpad Flex Cable
        • Replacing New Trackpad
        • Replacing Little Board (Daughter Board)
        • Try using New Keyboard
Still no change at all, Trackpad and Keyboard not working.

So I check “Power Load Switches” and this is all the numbers,
        UC830 > 1 = 3.297V ; 3 =1.757V ; 4 = 3.798V...
