l635 after new chip replacement getting amdkmdag logs

I there , this machine was with the grafic chip dead , so we've replaced it with a brand new chip from our usual supplyer , we solder it and all was fine , client came back 2 weeks after , complaining she had a blue screen meaning something about AMD , and complaining she had a few red lines apearing on screen . when i turned on the machine i've noticed on the windows events ,a lot of logs about the amdkmdag , and also a few DISPLAY logs , meaning the controler had crashed but had recovered . tryed first , cleaning the video driver and installing a new one , but same issue , is happening . so tryed a clean install since this windows is a bit kinky , but even with new system and without grafic driver (AMD one) i had this red lines but small lines appearing like this size - - - - - - - -- -- - - - but not all screen only in few parts , i think it could be something wrong on the soldering process so reflowed it well , until meltdown , but he keept ok for one day without error logs . this morning was giving amd error logs and the lines appeared again .i will post a photo i found on google that is pretty similar to my problem !

my question is , i never had problems with does chips and supplyer , and sincerely i dont think it can be a chip problem , but maybe a Vram problems , what are your opinions about , and how can i chek wich is the faulty (vram/vrams)

    cheers

well nvram problems , a good tip for you guys , remove glues of nvrams if they have glue before reballing or replacing a chip .
why ? well like pratically all compounds , except for a few ones , they usually expand when heat is applyed , making a no good contact exist between nvrams and board . removed all glue , cleaned all vrams and reballed all of them , and resolder all them , and until now , no problems , and no errors at all of ATI or red traces appearing . will carry on test until tomrow , but all seems was a nvram problem .

    cheers

good to hear, how can we find if it's a ram problem or a gpu problem?

i suppose that ram problem only when using 3d application... and all poligon flickering...

VRAM problem manifests itself in all applications, including BIOS screen. GPU only in 3D mode.

well there are some programs on hirensboot that will test nvrams , it will help you out .

but usually when its nvram problems , we notice this kind of issues like i showed in the picture above , or even strange caracters , but not always its nvrams , but after a chip replacement and if you have a good source for brand new chipset . then for sure problems must be on nvram

              Asus laptop EC/SIO chip replacement
              by ebugs
Asus Vivobook 15 (board X513ea R2.0) gone dead when user plugged an iPhone cable into the USB-C port during boot. Now there's no LED light, no power at all. I checked all MOSFETs and capacitors, no shorts found. The board only has 3.3V and 5V present, no other voltages.

I injected 3.3V into the EC chip power rail (ITE IT5125VG 128), and it draws 80mA, while the 3.3V LDO chip RT8249C has a max output of 100mA. I checked the boardview and found there are only two chips on this 3.3V rail, EC and Realtek audio chip. So I think EC could be the problem.

              I found the EC chip...

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
              by BMCappelletti
              Long story short:
              - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
              - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
              - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
              - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

HP Envy x360 (13-AR0033NB) Waterdamage - Replacement chip?
              by Jenzo
Hey everyone, working on an HP with quite some waterdamage. One chip kinda exploded, but I have no clue what it does, or where to get a replacement. Included are a picture of the damage, one clearer shot of chip, and one pointing to the location of the chip.

The modelnumber of the motherboard presumable is 18740-1 or 448.0GA08.0011

Not certain what the motherboardnumbers of these HP's are tbh.

Does anyone have any idea what chip this is, and how to find a replacement? Thank you very much in advance for the time and effort!...
