ASUS X509FAC no power to board

    Hi.

I have an ASUS X509FAC with no power going to the board.

19V gets from DC Jack to PQ8901 and PC8915 but not further (PC8915 should switch on the PQ8901, correct?)
    But, after PQ8902 I get 3.2V on AC_BAT_SYS.

I am at loss, as I cannot find any shorts and don`t know where else to look.
    Any suggestions, please?

    Thank you.

Hi, I need asus x415 (x509fac motherboard) schematic or boardview pls

Typical reasons are a failed charging controller or missing ACDET caused by a failed DC-IN Jack.

Do you have clear pictures of the whole board for us, front and back?

      On PR8904 (RES 127K OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%//TA-I/RM04FTN1273) I measured this:
      Pin 1 A/D_DOCK_IN - 19.77V
      Pin 2 P_CHG_ACDET_10 - 0.671V

Here are pictures. The best I could make:

AC_BAT_SYS is NOT shorted to GND, yes? Confirm please.

If not, we need a close up of this area here.

AC_BAT_SYS to GND has a resistance of 5.5MOhm.

Here are the requested pictures. If you need anything else, please ask.

The middle pin feels solid in the DC Jack.

This pin is supposed to grounded as soon as the charger is plugged. With and without power. Check whether it is like that. If not, the port is the origin of the issue and we need to find a workaround.

                Thank you so much.
Yes, it was the DC Jack, and the pin did not get grounded. The pin supposed to touch the barrel of the charger, was too straight and dirty.
Also, the correct pin was under the circled one. P_A/D_IN_DETECT

So, I desoldered the DC Jack, disassembled it, curved and cleaned the pin, so there is a good contact now.

Again, thank you. Did not think to check for a detect pin on the DC Jack, as I had 19V coming out of it.

Another possibility would have been to simply short the charger detect line with GND permanently, with a wire for example.

                  Well done and you're welcome.
