    sy8386brhc v sy8388brhc

    Hi all working on an Acer Aspire A515-57.The 3v LDO CHIP Sy8388brhc chip has shorted out. pu301 on the schematic here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...c-or-boardview
    My question is can I replace (Sy8388brhc global part #SY21243B) which has High Efficiency Fast Response, 8A, 28V Input, with the sy8386brhc (global part# SY21138BRHC) wihch only supports 6A on the input side.
    Other than that they are identicle.
    was going to take pot luck but Ithout i'd run it by you guys first.
    Anyone have thoughts on this.

      If you are sure there is no difference between these two chips other then 8A/6A factor, you can replace it.

          Hi all

          I've fixed a couple of FleXPower X7 power supplies. Since they have some logic outputs, I went to test them to make sure all was in order.
          "Fan Fail" would work when the fan is manually stopped.
          "Global DC" would change state when I manually adjusted one rail beyond 10%

          "Global AC" doesn't seem to do anything. To test, I power up the PSU and then I remove power. The 5VSB and Aux rails remain active for quite a few seconds after power is removed. I see the rails collapsing but there is no change in the "Global AC"...

          Vostro 3510 LA-L246p missing 3.3V and 5V

          This laptop (LA-L246p) came in with liquid damage in multiple spots. I had the board thorously cleaned. I found a shorted cap and a blown fuse in one location and now the laptop is charging. However, I am not getting 5V and 3.3V rails.

          This board is almost identical to LA-L243p or LA-L241p.

          PU501 (SY8288CRAC 5V converter) is getting ENLDO_3V5V (around 4.5V) on pin 11 but EN_5V (0V) on pin 12.

          Similarly,

          PU301 (SY8386BRHC 3.3V converter) is getting ENLDO_3V5V (around 4.5V) on pin 8 but EN_3V (0V) on pin 9

          So, obviosly the enable signal...
