    Dell inspiron 13Z 5323 - Not Charging

    Hi there

Would anybody know why a Dell Inspiron 5323 dosnt charge?
The Battery was replaced after really badly Bulging, to the point where the case was being pushed open.

What component would fail if it was overcharged to this point?

The Laptop works perfectly on the Power Adapter.

    I don't have a Boardview or Schematic

Could it be the Charge IC BQ07A?

    Any help would be appreciated

You replaced the battery pack and the new battery pack is not charging? Or you replaced the bulged battery cell(s) and keep using the battery management system circuitry and any unbulged battery cells? The battery management system circuitry inside the laptop battery pack usually has some intelligence. It remembers the charge/discharge count. If the count is exceeded, it won't allow you to charge.

Your battery should be a flat model. After changing the battery, it may ask for a reset from the bios. When you insert the new battery, you should see voltage on the connector. Batteries are sent fully charged. Can you check?

Hey Sam Scarbo and Sametbey - Thanks for your Responses

Sorry for the delay, and i have been working nights !!

I decided to check out the PCB with a fine tooth comb
I reworked the Charge IC, and a couple of other Components.

It seems to be working now and "Charges and Holds Charge" to 100%
I am pleased, ad I have invested a bit of money into this device which really isnt worth too much
