ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
          by DynaxSC
          Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

Requesting help identifying chip in Macbook Pro A2485
          by Loki_Fido
          Hi ya folks,

I have this MacBook Pro A2485 (M1 Pro 2021) which came in for repair.

It had a shorted SSD power supply chip. Therefore it was stuck at 5V.
I replaced it and the SSD are fine. No more shorts.

But The mac still pulls 5V and 200mA. If i leave it alone for 5 mins, the mac manages to receive 20V and 40mA. Of course, which doesnt mean the mac starts after power meter reading 20V.

But while the mac is stuck at 5V, i checked the board with thermal and found this chip was trying to start. Chip picture is attached.

Need help identifying resistor values near BIOS chip on ASUS Zephyrus G14 GA402XV
          by skdsp
          Hello,

I purchased a laptop that the previous user had tried to remove and replace a BIOS chip using a soldering iron not knowing that there is a ground pad under the 25R256JWEQ chip. In that process he damaged the BIOS chip and 3 of the resistors near the IO3, CLK, and IO0 pins. I have programmed a spare 25R256JWEQ chip using a CH341A programmer but not sure what values those resistors should be. If anyone has a boardview of this area and can provide those values that would be very useful for me.

          Attached is the photo.

          Thank you!

A: If you can`t read from it how do you expect to write to it ?.

Q: Why is my bios chip unreadable ?.

A: The programmer is faulty or has a worn or broken zif socket.

The USB cable is frayed, connector pins worn or some other physical damage.
