    PD1 and PD2 for HP Omen15-dh1005na

Hiya i had a problem with my laptop which is HP OMEN 15-DH1005NA, it stopped working and the LED charging light stopped working, it stopped charging the battery aswell it was completely dead, I started checking the ac adapter to see if the voltage is going through and that ended up fine, so i had to check on the motherboard itself, i took it out and checked the power port if the voltage is going through and that looked fine, i checked a little futher where i saw 2 components PD1 and PD2 after checking the voltage it looked very odd to me which i have sent the results in the picture below, i tried to look for the schematic but couldn't fine anything for days,
The 2 components i found was PD1 and PD2 which results was odd but i don't have any clue what they are? and what they are used for? i will send a picture of it below, if anyone knows what they are for and what the voltage should be than please let me know so i can get this laptop up and running again

    Thank you

See attached. Believe the linked parts are ESD diodes.

Each will trigger if there is a transient higher than the threshold voltage.

That makes sense why everything has stopped working on the laptop, from the results do you think they both must have blown and need to be replaced?

At this time, we do not know if these parts are damaged or not. If there was a true ESD event then yes the part is sacrificial and would shunt itself to ground and prevent further use of the part.

To check, remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance to ground of each of the pins on the side with the 2-pins. The single pin side is ground. We are checking if either of the internal diodes are blown.

Post the resistance measurement for each of these parts.

Then, configure the meter in DIODE mode. Place the red meter probe to ground = single pin side of the part; black meter probe onto the 2-pin side. What is the measurement? Repeat for the other pin on the part. Repeat for the 2nd CM2 part.

We are again checking if the diode is blown from an earlier ESD event.

Hiya thank you for helping me i have test which you have said,
on resistance mode as you said i added the red probe on the top pin and the black one on the bottom 2 pin the results i got is as follow:

            PD1 - bottom right 20.03k, bottom left 0L

            PD2 - bottom right 0.92k, bottom left 0.92k

on diode mode as you said i added the red probe on the top pin and the black one on the bottom 2 pin the results i got is as follow:

            PD1 - bottom right 0.748, bottom left 0.749
            PD2 - bottom right 0.648, bottom left 0.648

            Thank you

              PD2 seems suspicious.

I was checking on different chips for the voltage but on one chip i saw a spark, can you have a look what that chip is? I don't understand why it blow up the corner lead when i was just checking the voltage?

Meaco Arete One / Deye Dehumidifier not working
                    by CG2
I've got a dehumidifier that has stopped working. Plug it in, press the power switch, and it beeps 5 times. Nothing showing in the display (which is just two 7 segment displays) apart from the two decimal points flashing. The model is a MeacoDry Arete One 18L, which seems to be a rebadged Deye (all the boards are marked Deye). Here's what I've got so far (details in case anyone else in future should need them).

Starting with the power board. Mains power comes in at the red connector top left. The compressor is powered by the orange connector to the right of that and is switched by...

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
                    by ttmi100x
                    Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

                    Upon closer inspection...

KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?
                    by CapLeaker
Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
                    by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....
