    hp g72 b52sf disabling dgpu amd/ati

    Hello,
On the pc hp g72 b52sf w10 bios:sp55430 each time that i reboot after an update i have a bsod with "video tdr failure in atikmpag.sys" .That's a problem with the ati/amd chip because when i desactivate the amd graphics in device manager the pc can work on the intel graphics. But that's not a valid solution because each time i reboot i have the bsod.
I tried several drivers , even sp50704, to initialize this chip, but i have always the same error of bsod ,or error code 31. On my original bios sp55430 it was not possible to switch the Dgpu toward egpu because the advanced tab didn't appeared; so i tried a modded one but even if the advanced tab was present the switching operation of dgpu toward egpu didn't work.
On this forum, i read that somebody (https://www.badcaps.net/member/149220-mcplslg123) has posted a guide to disable the dgpu , but i couldn't find this guide. Can somebody give me thelink for this guide?
Looking for a solution on internet, i saw that several people spoke of an harware modification of the motherboard...(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rtz8Mp3-sAw&t=6s ) or (https://youtu.be/CZDJhhEqvNU).
My motherboard is : P/N :01013y000-600-g with the product number in the bios: xf110ea#abh ; once after water damage i removed and replaced the motheboard with one exactly the same except that this amd/ati chip was embedded on the new one.
Waiting for your answer to advice me in order to solve this problem, thank you in advance for your answers.

Usually, you can disable the GPU if you turn-off the PWM-controller, which controls the VCORE MOSFETs. Those PWM-controllers have an "ENABLE" signal, which is open-drain and has a pull-up resistor, as far as I remember. So if you rewire this signal to the VCC of the PWM-controller, it should be switched-off.
If the PWM MOSFETs do have also ENABLE signal, then this signal can be used also to turn-off the GPU, I think.
Hint: Just to desolder the GPU VCORE Rail inductors does usually not switch-off the GPU. It will throw an error, usually.

What is the mb marking? Post a clear photo of your mb.
Yes to disable GPU, some hardware modifications is needed but that depends on the motherboard markings.

        Hello,
        Thank you for your answers.
I will seriously study your propositions of hardware modification; but i haven't the boardview file of the motherboard to locate tle elements...if somebody could give me a link for that i will be very pleased. (i allready have the schematics).
        Here is the caracteristics of the motherboard : hp g72-b52sf, motherboard : P/N :01013y000-600-g rc8f32004ah1, product number : xf110ea#abh.
Probably, i will reflash the sp55430 previous bios, because the modded one doesn't bring nothing usefull.
i will try to send you the photos of the motherboard with the amd chip:
Thank you in advance for your answers.

ps: i will send you also the "whocrashed" report.

            Thank you for your answer.
ok that's this one: P/N :01013y000-600-g that's what is writen on the printed circuit...
I had ordered it with this link :https://fr.aliexpress.com/i/10050054...-specification

once more thank you for your care...i hope you can help me.
If you want i can send you the shématics of the motherboard.

I know it's unusual around here, but some people may like to learn, these are good machines to start with (well, not dead GPUs but still).
Some people also do what they can to save more stuff from going to a landfill.

                      Hello,
Thank you for the link of "mcplslg123", it's very exciting, on my previous motherboard (with damage of water) i found and located the four resistors which are involved in the modification. As soon as i could, i will disassemble my laptop in order to swap these resistors.
With the software occct i tested my device, and never the temperature of the amd/ati chip was higher than 58°c. (but it was desactivated in the device manager).
in the forum "amd community" i read that sometimes this atikmpag bsod was a matter of ram ( it may depends of the brand of theram chips). Sometimes, this default disappeared using a vga or hdmi screen connected to the laptop. I will try.
Thank you for your contributions, i hope that soon, i won"t have this bsod.
                      great thanks for all.
