Hi , I had an issues with a 5420 Latitude, it would not boot and I tracked it down to the pmic which I changed and now the device boots. Now the battery is not detected, I get 1 white and 4 amber flashes when battery connected. I tried two batteries, one was new, and the issue persists. Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?

Can have a reason that the communication does not work. Or that the battery voltage is not detected by the controller. I would check the communication and the voltage at the controller. -
Hi FriedFred, I have looked at this but I have no comparison and it seems that this is a schematic that is hard to come by. I have ordered a new isl and will test with a new component.Comment

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.
Here's what I've tried so far:- Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
- Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
- Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage

Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,... -

I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.

Hello, I have a customer that brought this laptop in after replacing his battery. He said his original battery charge was not lasting long, and after replacing the battery with one purchased from iFixit, the charging worked for about 30 minutes and then stopped, and the battery is no longer detected by windows.
This laptop powers on when the AC adapter is connected, and my USB-C multimeter shows current being used with both ports, but the charging light does not come on, and in Windows the battery icon shows an X as if there is no battery present. If I disconnect the AC adapter,... -
Hi i got this nice laptop in for battery replacement TS.
Owner ordered a replacement battery off Ebay (seller ratings were legit though :-)
Charger is a also new non original HP blue pin but does own the resistor between (+) to middle pin.
+ 19.76v
0.845v on brown wire
Original battery (LK03XL) was bloated and was showing 100% but didn't hold any charge,
Pin1-2 (+) terminal 0.056v.
Pin3: 2.968v
Pin4 2.968v
Pin5: 3.23v
Pin 6-8: GND
Replacement battery arrived charged and laptop powered up.
But didn't agree...
