About me, my goal and the equipment I (don't) have:
I am brand new to this forum, and I am eager to learn about repairing laptops. I have an engineer background although I haven't done electronics for a while. I have watched several Youtube videos in the last two months, trying to understand how to diagnose a faulty motherboard. I have a USB-C Amp meter and a classic multi meter. No DC Power Supply to inject voltage, no soldering iron to replace components.

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right spot, I don't have any question or anything specific to one board. I am *kinda* starting out with this kind of work. I have been IT in one role or another for my job the last 30 years, and I am familiar enough with basic board stuff generally speaking. i want to repair an Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver.
symptoms:
on power on, display appears and i hear one click. enue functions is given.
- no hdmi output
- audio output not tested, but i think it is not there
- usb sticks are not recognized
if i read out the chips with display+standby button + tone+
both dts show only ????
chip is D830K013BZKB4
things i have done:
- reflow of the dts chip without taking off and reballing

Hey Everyone,
So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.
I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...03-27-2023, 07:01 PM
