Has anyone on here had any experience recapping laptops? The boards are so expensive, I'm sure there's a market for this type of service.

Re: Recapping laptop boards?
I think there will be a good market for those who can recap a laptop board, kc8adu. So many shops are scared to even dismantle a laptop to the point of removing the mobo, so I think a guy could make a good niche with this sort of thing.
We see a lot of people bring in laptops with broken power jacks, too. I've gotten to the point that I can do one of those repairs in about 1:15. That's not too bad. Of course it takes longer when you factor in testing time, etc. I generally replace the jack and have the next guy do the testing for me. It keeps me in my groove, so to speak!
Thanks for the reply.Comprehensive Computing

Yes, that's is also a very good idea. I may have to think about that as well. Right now we have 8 techs besides myself, though.Comprehensive Computing
