    A2179 - No Audio

this is a board of mine that's I've been trying to repair from time to time..

liquid damaged on right I/O.. after taking the I/O out and measure diodes and shorts on board I found everything OK except for SPKRAMP_INT_L readings were too high.. and sadly its associated with the T2 chip..

Days pass by and I'm now good with T2 chip.. so I've taken it out and put another one.. SPKRAMP_INT_L is reading OK now but no audio.. :| with known-good right I/O and known-good right I/O cable..

I've taken diode measurements.. and I've measured resistors for bad or blown resistors maybe somewhere.. And I could not find out the problem..

It might be an I2S line issue but sadly I do not own an oscilloscope :|

    Other suggestions?

Check voltage and diode mode to ground at SPKRAMP_RESET_L.

So the I2S amplifier is not stuck in reset mode since the line is 1v8 and is powered by 1v8 so is parked out of reset.

Perhaps the audio IC is defective or has cat urine on the balls? If comfortable, consider to flux and reflow U6400.

It is relatively inexpensive but is a wlcsp package so not joy to replace.

          omg you're a genius!

it worked.. I replaced it from another donor and it worked out..

why didn't I think of replacing it?! I went to replace a T2 but lazied out for replacing an amp IC.

          Much appreciated it bro

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
            by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

            MacBook Air 13" 2020 A2179 Audio Board
            by tccyo22
Hey all! I have a MacBook Air 13" 2020 A2179 that won't switch on with the audio board connected so before just replacing it outright I took a quick look and found a cracked cap and short. Removed the cap and the short has gone so want to replace the cap to see if we can use this audio board still.

TL;DR Anyone know the value of the cap circled in red in the attached picture?...

Roland KR-3500/4500 Digital Piano. Crackling audio sound on all keys -Fixed
            by i_am_patch
Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

Monitor Audio RSW12 - Green light but no audio
            by MOSSEP
            Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first β€˜decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

MacBook Air 2337 - Right I/O Board Audio IC - Alternative Replacement?
            by grimacelord
            Hello,

I'm working on a MacBook Air A2337 that had liquid damage on the right I/O board. I ultrasonic cleaned the board and it all functions except the computer has no audio. I tried reballing the audio IC which is TAS5770AC0, but that did not restore audio. I could just replace the entire board, but I wanted to see if replacing the audio IC would fix it first. Mouser has a similar audio IC in stock which is TAS5770LC0YFFR, but I wasn't sure if it is compatible. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use the one from mouser as an acceptable replacement or if I need to purchase...
