Acer 5920 Backlight issue

I have 2 Acer aspire 5920 models with integrated graphics, both same model number motherboards and both with the same problem. They both intermittently switch off the backlight and sometimes if the mouse is moved the screen comes back to life other times it does not. It turns off the backlight at irregular intervals. I have tried known good screens and know good inverter but issue persists. I had a quick look at the schematic and it looks like maybe the Gmch may be the culprit.

Any input would be appreciated, would like to know if this is a known issue as I have never seen it before.

You should check pins 4,7 and 9 on CN1 when that happens to determine the root of the problem.
