    Hp dv9000

    Hi there,
I have a really old hp dv9000 that has grown to my heart. I bought it off from someone when I widened my services in the shop I work. I reballed the chipset and the gpu(new but old model) but the only thing the laptop does when I try to fire it up is to light up 2 leds(near power button and card reader) for one second then nothing, not even the fan spins up. Where can the problem lie?

Short either in GPU or NB, not always measurable. Remove GPU and power board on without it but with CPU and RAM. Board should power on and stay on, and the card reader LED should go on and then off, indicating board has completed POST. Yes it will POST and even boot with the GPU removed. If it does this sequence, replace GPU. If it does the same or if the card reader LED never goes off, replace NB.
