    Novuton EC assistance.

    Hi Guys. Quick question.
    Is the nuvoton npcx797ha1bx controller programmable or it self programs itself upon fixing it on the board. I'm asking for HP 830 G6 motherboard.

      Yes its programmable. May program itself on first boot but cant be sure about it as SIO gets self programmed on some and needs manual programming in some platforms.

                  before you start the procedure read the bios eeprom and save it you might need it at the end

                  1do not power on your svod yet
                  2plug you ribbon 30x0.5 to the left of the keyboard connector
                  3test pin with testeur if it beep go to next stage
                  4 open svod software select 1.8v
                  5 now plug your svod
                  6 select nuvoton
                  7 plug charger on the board/laptop
                  8 press read id
                  9 select 256k
                  10 read nuvoton
                  11 save reading, now unplug the svod
                  12 open HxD software and open your 256k file the one you just saved

                  Hi guys, I have an ASUS P8H61-MX USB3 motherboard that can't turn off the power supply because the PSON signal generated by the SIO chip always goes back to and stay at low state (below 5V) half a second after it went to high state (5VSB)

                  Also worth mentioning that the PSON signal will randomly switch to low state and therefore turning on the power supply and the computer as if a ghost has pressed the power button 🤣

                  The SIO chip is Nuvoton NCT5535D. Can't find a datasheet for it, only for NCT5532D (more or less the same though, just different pinout)

                  Hi all,

                  As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

                  I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

                  Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

                  RAA229001 VRM Controller - programmable or not ???

                  Hi electronic folks

                  Does anybody know if this controller is programmable or not ?

                  I have replaced this controller on a MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK board, as it had a short on VCCS pin (pin 41). I have ordered a few new on Aliexpress, they seem to be original, however they do not start to work. When I move same chip from a second working board to the one I have replaced the RAA229001, the VRM starts normally to work. It seems that the chip is OK, as it generates on the VCCS pin nearly same voltage as a chip on a second working board i have (VCCS probably it's some internal reference...
