Strange problem charging battery Toshiba Z50-E

First of all i haven't found the board number other then FLESSY2 G4227A A4227A etched under the DC in connector...

The problem is laptop does not charge the battery...Laptop works on battery and work on charger, but doesn't charge the battery... when off, it pulls 0.13A ,when turned on it pulls around 0.500A and has spikes 0.6-0.8 A when booting, i found that ISL9238H is the charging regulator and i replaced it with ISL 9538H and it's all the same...i checked all the passive components and all seem to be ok...

Anyone have an idea what to look for next? The battery is brand new and i have another same laptop and battery charges in that laptop fine...

Could there be a blacklist for replacement batteries in bios so that they don't charge?

Remove all power. Meter in diode mode. Red meter probe to ground. Black meter probe to point to test.

Test each pin of the battery connector on the logic board in this diode mode. Post each measurement.

I did that yesterday, but unfortunately i didn't write any values, but there were no shorts...that's why i changed the 9538H...but i can do it from the outside, the battery is removable...picture attached

No shorts here. Connect the battery and check the voltage to ground of these same pins. We are checking to confirm the battery detect pin; the SMBUS SCL / SDA lines are ok.

When the battery is connected, are you able to view the details of the connected battery? This information is extracted over the same SMBUS SCL / SDA lines.

Yes the battery is detected and working,it's discharging,it's showing percentage, everything is working, on battery alone, on charger alone , but it doesn't charge the battery, when i pull the battery out it remains on the AC power working, i plug the charger back it goes on AC power and it's not charging but it says it is charging, there is an icon ,it's saying plugged in and charging, the battery icon goes up and up but it never gets charged, the voltage of the battery is not going up at all. i had the board out yesterday and measured the voltage on the mosfet from battery and there is 15.8V from the battery, on the other side of the mosfet there is 19V when charger attached, when battery is out i get 15.8V from both sides and laptop runs ......i am not a proffesional, but i have enough experience in board repair and i have exhausted all my knowledge...so i got an idea is battery maybe blacklisted since it's aftermarket and it does discharge it , but won't charge it?

Interesting but it charges on another identical laptop? Then it cannot be the blacklist issue.

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode (not diode). Measure the resistance across the battery mosfet that you mentioned in the last post.

            Check:

            source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
            source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
            gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

Post each measurement. Compare these values to the other identical system. Also, is the charger IC truly a replacement for the original?

HP ProBook 445 G8 Battery not charging
              by Julian Bailey
              Hi all

We have in a HP ProBook 445 G8 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU. When power is connected the power LED light blinks 5 times then stops. Normally HP laptops will blink this LED 10 times as it does a self test when the AC adaptor is inserted. So there must be some sort of short somewhere.

The battery doesn't charge, and is erratic on the MM voltage. Bench PSU LED pulsates when the battery is connected also. So the fault must be on the charging circuit?

I have gone around the board with a MM and cant find anything

              Windows shows the battery fine,...

              Laptop battery charging circuit
              by piernov
              1. Some theory
              1.1. Introduction
Almost every laptop has a charging circuit of some sort, that does a few things:
              • Manages switching between AC adapter and battery power
              • Manages battery charging and generates power rail to charge battery

There are 2 different designs to handle switching between AC adapter and battery power and feeding the system:
              • Hybrid power boost (HPB) and traditional circuits without power boost (see Warning in HPB section)
              • Narrow VDC (NVDC)

Texas instrument has a nice overview of these technologies with some more details at https:...

I have this acer V3-472 laptop with board id DA0ZQ0MB6E0 REV:E , With battery charging problem, At first I thought it was a bad battery so, I bought new battery but the problem still the same, cannot turn on with battery only and when battery and charger plugged in no orange light indicator but the laptop is working properly with charger only plugged in. here is the measurement.I noticed when battery and charger both plugged in the voltage on current sense resistor PR1 is fluctuating form 19v go down but when charger only plugged in its working fine here is the measurement of PU1 BQ737 when battery...

ThinkBook 15 G3 ACL Not Charging Battery - LA-K602P Board
              by kodox
since i couldn't find schematic or boardview for this model (LA-K062P), i use closest board model found here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-and-boardview

the schematic share same marking for each component, using same PD-Controller, same BQ25710, the only different is the battery cell used. LA-K061P uses 3S battery while LA-K062P use 4S battery per schematic.
              what i've done:
              - flashing...

Macbook M1 A2337 EMC 3598 weird battery charging problem
              by brockauly
              Hi guys,

If I unplugged the battery and the charger, then plug the battery then the charger, it charges without problem.
Then if I unplug the charger and plug it back, it won't charge anymore.
In the first case, main voltage is regulated at ~12.5V and charges the battery.
After unplugging the charger, main voltage drops to battery voltage at ~11.5V.
After replugging the charger, main voltage stays at ~11.5V and won't go up to ~12.5V again.

I found C520A (2.2ยต after current sensor from USB-C source) completely burnt and removed it properly. I cleaned...
