My actions would be the following: try another display that is known to work, if it doesn’t help, I would try to check the connection to an external monitor with and without a connected display

The trackpad contains a hall effect LID sensor. When the lid is considered to be OPEN, the display backlight is enabled.

Carefully check the voltage to ground of IPD_LID_OPEN_1V8.

Thanks for the update. I believe there is a lid angle sensor in the display that may have played a role in this fault.

I thought it was a problem with the display! Was it possible to restore Truton on the new display? They say you need to move the camera from the old display to get the Truton back!

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
              by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Macbook Air 820-00165 Static Chime Sound
              by Comp_Pro
              Hello all,

I have a weird issue to solve here. This macbook air came in showing a black screen even though the backlight was lit. The display was not the issue as I tried another known good display. Upon trying to restart it, sometimes it boots up but freezes at the login page. More commonly however, the macbook will give the chime sound but then get stuck repeating the sound. The first chime sound is normal but the subsequent chimes sounds are crackly. Voltages seem normal, no liquid damage. I did find a blotch of something near one of the crystals on the other side of the CPU...

              Apple MacBook A1707 No Audio/Sound
              by tommy97
              Hi,

I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.

I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.

Here are the current voltage readings:
              • PPV18_S0: 1.8V
              • R6402: 1V
              • R6405: 1V
              • R6403: 1V
              • AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
              • PPBUS: 12.6V

Yep...I broke it MOAR after fixing it. a2681 MacBook Air
              by Jamey021
So, what are the odds I shorted the M2 CPU? I got in an a2681 MacBook Air. Liquid damage. Ordered from China and replaced a chip (APL109D 343S00555) cleaned corosion and ultrasonic..The whole 9 yards.
Last night I put it all together and it came on beautifully. 20V- Apple Logo. I celebrated and knocked the LCD connector loose right away while holding the laptop. Now, it wont boot and it cycles on the volt meter.
Cycle 20v - .02a then volt meter goes off, then it comes on and rinse and repeat. Classic sign of a MacBook short. I looked at the board with my thermal camera and I can...
