Post a pic of the bottom side of this part. If this part has only 2 solder legs, it is a tantalum capacitor @ 15 mF (15 microfarads). Purchase the highest voltage rated part for this body size and you should be ok. Do you have any reference on the logic board or voltage rail used for this component ?

Yeah. I can send a picture. So the one that i bought should be ok? I bought one that has the right capacitance but the resistance is very wrong and i wasnt sure if that would cause issues.

Looks like aluminum polymer, not tantalum. Also that's 15 µF not mF.

Yeah sounds right. Im just wondering how i can find this one or a similar one. I bought a 15uf tantalum one but the resistance is different so i didnt want to mess anytning up but putting yhat on the board.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

ENCONTRAR DATOS DMI EN EL CHIP BIOS IDEAPAD5 15ITL05 / FIND DMI DATA ON IDEAPAD5 15ITL05 BIOS CHIP
              by danielgerman681
Hi, Im trying to find the area on the chip that contains all of my laptops information, but I havent found it. The laptop won't turn on anymore. I was updating the BIOS, and it was supposed to reboot itself, but it wouldnt turn back on. I ve tried every possible solution, every alternative on Lenovo forums, everywhere; I ve taken it to technicians, and no one has been able to fix it. I've already read the chip that contains the BIOS (Winbond 25Q128JSVQ) and searched for my laptops data, but they're nowhere to be found. I only find scribbles and lines of text indicating errors. Has anyone had a...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
              by DynaxSC
              Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

How do I find a defective RAM chip
              by rumpumpel1
I have a ThinkPad T14 which always finds an error at a very specific address during a RAM test. I therefore believe that exactly one of the RAM chips on the mainboard is defective. How do I find this defective RAM chip?

Beginner question. Did I find a short?? HP dax31mb1aa0 REV A motherboard
              by Mess

Hi beginner here, so I'm not sure of I've done this right 😅 trying to diagnose my laptop's motherboard (dax31mb1aa0 rev a). I don't quite know how to read the schematic, so I'm attaching the pictures of the motherboard and the measurements.

I was attempting to measure resistance to GND on inductors. I disconnected motherboard and used "continuity testing" setting on my multimeter. I put black probe to Ground & red probe on an inductor. Did I measure this right? Am I correct to think that 0.3 ohm measurement indicates a short circuit? Thank you for your help!...
