Hello friends , i have the opportunity to buy Thermal Camera FLIR One Gen 3 to use it for detecting any short to ground at the motherboard ..
I m asking if someone have use it and what's is his opinion/advise.
Thank youy
Hello, i found this thermal camera on the ALiExpress and i wanted to ask if anybody use this for electronic repair. Is it any good, and do i need to have macro lens since i don't see that this camera has it.
It cost around 180€-190€.
If someone can recommend something similar under 200€ I would appreciate it.
I haven't been able to find a schematic or board view for one of these out in the wild. I had one come in with a no charge/no boot issue.
It Uses two pairs of Source to Source Mosfets after the power jack to prevent back flow from battery or PSU after the power jack.
The drain on the board feed side of the Mosfets measures a near dead short to ground. I attempted a voltage injection there it draws about 1.4A at 1V absolutely nothing heats up on the thermal camera.
It draws 1.86A injecting directly to ground.
I bought a MacBook Pro 2017 A1708 to repair. I bought it knowing one usb port is not working (completely dead) and no usb data transfer possible from the working port as well (only charging).
I replaced the CD3215 chip and also changed the usb redriver chip on the other side of the motherboard which is not in the boardview and schematic (there was a small hole on it).
Now the motherboard is completely back to life and both ports work without any issues. This was a little history from the device. No prior signs of repair before I start as well....
