Hi, I have two of these. One is fixed but the other board won't display anything. The power jack and power button light up and the fan spins but there is no video on external or laptop monitor. i have tried a reflow - no luck. I was going to try and program the bios but I have a problem. I am not much good at schematics and the bios chip mentioned in the schematic is different to the one on the MB. I'd be grateful if someone would check the pictures and tell me if i am looking at the right one.

25Q16BVS is a 2 MBytes, so the size of data they can hold, differs too much.
You have other soldered chip. See the name on it, and post.Last edited by Francisco.s; 10-07-2013, 05:21 AM.

Re: HP Pavilion G6 fan spins but no post
I have checked voltage on the winbond at 3.36v. For the life of me I can't find that MX25L4005AM2C-12G anywhere on the board. I have never programmed a bios chip before but I want to try it as an extension to my hobby and the programmers are cheap. I've ordered one but it will probably be 3 weeks before it gets here. Will uefi make it a short term investment? I have read somewhere that there will still be a bios chip to kickstart the MB even with uefi.Last edited by sparker1; 10-07-2013, 06:01 PM.
