I have a Dell D620 that doesn't always turn on. When you press the power button the numlock, capslock, scroll lock, power light and wifi light come on for about 3 secs then go off. Then without moving anything, it will turn on ok. It does this if either powered on mains, or battery only. I have tried the reset trick, and have also re-seated memory, hard drive etc. Does anyone have any ideas?? I have seen another thread on here about powering on without the keyboard, but I can't make the picture out. Does anyone have the schematics for this board to bypass power button?

I have found 2 pads near the keyboard connector p/sw that were covered in glue, i have removed the glue, and shorted these out, and it still does the same, only flashing numlock, capslock, scroll lock, power light for a few seconds. I know when it's going to boot correctly, because when the lights come on, the HDD light will illuminate at the same time -

Just wash your mother board in a very good way with Thinner or Petrol especially the CPU Processor's Socket. Your laptop will be fine. . . . .Comment

I got a bare Dell Lattitude 5590 with missing battery, RAM, RTC battery and Storage, I wanted to put some components in it and use it as my home laptop. After adding a FRU 2GB DDR4 2400 SoDIMM RamaxelRAMI've tried booting Linux Mint from USB, I got an error while trying to boot it. I tried reseating the stick, different slot, didn't help.
I tried to boot Windows 10 installer, as that was the stock system my model came with, got a BSOD as soon as the installer started booting, different code every time. I've tried switching to AHCI mode, I've tried linux in legacy mode, I've tried compatibility... -
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

I have used Dell Latitude 5530 SouthPeak15 MLK 203102-1 schematics from forum although this board is a little bit different.
I am a bit lost on USBC PD circuit and what to measure - here is what i have done so far.- no coils are shorted - one is showing about 15ohms but others are in kohms or infinite resistance.
- most of the coils are showing 5V, 1.3V, 3V etc except 2 of them.
- i have measured 16.5V available at the capacitor

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...
