HP dv6 - Power on, Power off

    DAUT1AMB6E0 rev E - Anyone have a schematic?

Powers on, fan spins, power led comes on, then it all shuts back off. I tried a reflow on the graphics chip, south bridge and north bridge but no change. Based on my limited knowledge I suspect there's a short somewhere and the power supply is killing power.

There are two thing I've noticed so far. There is an LED (LED9) by the left edge of the board between the HDMI port and the E-SATA port. When I first plug in the power and push the power button, it comes on and then goes off with the rest. Every time after that it doesn't come on at all. If I remove power and plug it back in it will again come on the first time and none after that.

Second thing I've noticed is a discoloration of the connector for the dc jack. I've attached a picture:

Anyone point me in a direction on this one?

    Hello
Is your platform ut12 with 2ati chips used for graphics pls check the ohms:-)of 215-0674034.also make sure the 1.1v and 1.2v is dead on this is the main culprit.as i had the same one for repair and replaced the above ati chips now sometimes the set is cold it come on with display and turns off in 20sec but what i noticed is the 1.1v feedback voltage play a havoc they area gets too hot where the ic rt8204 is and maybe some resistor get temp variant which change values as these are 1% resistor so need to check on that also.anyone come with this model similar issues would like some feedback on this
    Thanks

He's on to something there. Check resistance on the small caps on top of the graphics chip and NB. If any of them read short (under 1 ohm), one of the chips is shot. I'm betting on the graphics, but i've seen a case where both were dead.
