hi to all of you!my macbook pro 13 mid 2010 don't recognize optical drive.i change the drive with a new one and the same problem.i even put a hdd caddy(an optical bay to replace the optical drive with a hard disk)but the same problem.where should i search on the motherboard?or is someone else who have this problem too?this is very imprtant to me because i want to put my 750gb hdd on the caddy optical bay an put a ssd hard disk like master. thank's a lot.

hi spidey.i havo no schematic.i think is the southbridge ,as "thesloc" suggest.but i'm afraid to reflow it because is my personal laptop not a client laptop!
and the laptop is working very well except the problem with the optical drive that i described.others ideas?Comment

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

Steps taken in my usual process.
Reset security settings in the BIOS
Ensure existing HD comes up into the OS
Shut down the laptop and disconnected the main battery
Removed old M2 drive and replaced with a new 1tb Mushkin Temptest NVME drive. (I'm aware the bus is Sata III but the drive should still work at a slower speed right? Been my experience in other laptops)
Replace battery connector and close up the laptop
Insert my USB drive with my Windows 10 image I've... -

by madura2010Today recieved hp model 17-f100nx laptop with no power.(motherboard=DAY11AMB6E0) after that repaired +1.05v section due to faulty buck converter.after that power issue fixed and laptop turns on.But "no bootable 3f0 error displayed".so then
i checked the connectivity of ribbon=good communication with hard and motherboard
changed hard disk and checked=3f0 error persist
sata power=+5v available
Then checked data capacitors=all good
Then checked data lines path connectivity to pch=all good
reflashed... - Loading...
