First of all take out BIOS battery and short pins, then check if there are any liquid contacts on mobo, these mobos usually does not come with GPU or chipset problem,
if no good result, upload a picture of mobo please

You can use a multemeter which measure temperature. Put the temp probe on the cooler above the cpu and the measure the gpu.

This is the easiest and the cheapest way. You have those low cost multimeter at any electronic parts store for 15$.

I know its a long shot but any luck with this problem?

I have cleaned the fan, applied new heat sink paste.

after 10 mins - 15 mins laptop will shut down.

I think I cleared the problem it doesn't like some harddrives.
I suspect their harddrive went then they tried a new one and gave up.
installing a updated bios seems to have stopped it shutting down randomly at the moment getting further in my windows install i suspect the harddrive I am using is POS.

                        Alright so far so good.
No random reboots, benchmarked on gpu. I assume it was a bios bug using with different hdd's
