i think it's not about flux.i think it's about time above melting point of solder balls.try to keep the chip at 183-190 C or 217-225 C (for leadfree) at least 30 seconds and then you can lift the chip.but maximum 60 seconds.

I try to gently rock the chip to see if it floats. If it floats i know that all the balss melted. Then i lift it with vacuum tweezers.
