    Aspire 5520 ICW50L11

    Hello,
    the machine boots properly, posts, then shutdown;sometimes doesnt boots.

    Nvidia MCP issue? or some caps somewhere?

      Can't say with that little information.
      Will say that caps are rarely a problem on laptops because they use few if any Lytics, but that doesn't magically make it a MCP problem, there are other things it could be.

          Ceramic capacitors are usually responsible for that kind of problem on that machine. But you'll have to provide more details, make some basic tests like checking cpu, cleaning and post the results so we can help better.

              Tried new cpu,new ram sticks, same problem.

                      Yes i know, Mr Mayo is a great source for infos; regarding the acer...was a my fault!!!
                      The customer removed the termal pad (crap) on the mcp, so the heatsink was not touching it = overheating.
                      Placed a copper shim on the nvidia gpu,some artic silver on both sides and then works great.
