Water in my wifes Laptop

Last night I got some really bad news, that I really did not want to here.My wife was working on her laptop and taking a drink of plain water and some of it spilled on the mouse pad. The screen turned mostly white with some very colorful vertical lines on the LCD screen,
Update this morning after letting everything dry out, its working like a charm.
I guess we got really lucky that she was not drinking a beverage with sugar it it.

Water simply dries up, but soda leaves a sugary residue on the PCBs, that shorts stuff out!

As long as the shorts [through the water] don't over current anything all it needs is dried out. [With no power and that means battery out too.]

Might want to make REAL sure it's dried out though.
Drips can hang out for days in crannies sometimes and tipping it will cause them to run out into precarious places.
