hp la-h461p no power

have hp la-h461p with no power on and no light on dc lack .by tracing the problem found +3vl shorted to ground and the i/o ic kb9542q was shorted after replacing it the shorting is removed and still no power on dc jack.pu 301 has 19v on pin 2-5 and 4v on pin 11 .do i have to program this ic for power on .have changed pu301 but same problem plz help.https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1690900091

KB9542 is programmable,so yes it has to be programmed. My experience with this particular KBC is not good. Most of them sold as new are defectives and to top it all it often ends in verification failure while programming it. on some boards, has to replace 3 KBC in a row to fix it.That makes it pretty unviable as customer dont want to pay much and results in loss to technicians like us.

Yes this costs somewhere around $15 and i warn every member on this forum that you should include atleast 2 sio's cost before giving an estimate for repair as long as sio is KB904X/KB905X.
