    A2289 No power.

    No water damage on board.

Customer came in with board dead.

    5.20V
    0.00Amps

Sometimes I see a .03amp and it jumps to .46A and then resets to zero.

Customer stated they used a knock off charger but both chips seem fine and are reading fine. Checked readings

    PPBUS_G3H is present
    PP3V3_G3H is present
    PP1V8_SLP is present
    Awake is present

    PP5V_G3S is not present

Tested USB C readings on UEM2. Comes up good.

    Tested ppbus_G3H voltage is 12.23Volts

Check wiki and it says if it’s below 12.60 it’s a T2 issue?

Going to replace CD3217 chips. Seems to me all power rails are present, going to assume both chips are bad. Hopefully this solves this problem

Check the LDO rails of each CD3217. Check the USB / CCx port pins in DIODE mode.

              LDO rails present and normal.

Diode Mode normal. CD3217 seems to be the issue then.

                Re: A2289 No power.

                UPDATE: Replaced both CD3217 chips.

                still 5.15v
                0.03 Amps
HOWEVER, the amps jump to .96 consistently now. No idea whats going on. I would know if it was consistent .31 amps etc. but it just keeps dropping to .0A or .03 Amp then jumps to .96a then sometimes .63 and up and still no 20volts. This is a better look than last week on this board but now i feel i am getting closer to fixing it but I am still dumbfounded. lol

also i am hearing a clicking noise when plugged in. You can hear it go click, click click. near the T2 chip area

Put thermal camera on, found the little bastard!

Cap C4400 was blown and pumping 120F then dropping with alcohol on it.

                and now she is on

Anyone here fix a tv and customer cracks panel when they get it home?
                    by mecha1166
About 2 times a year, a customer will do this. We fix the tv, put it on test play, and customer sees it working. They see me pull power and video wire. Sometimes I pick up tv, right in front of them, and carry it out to their vehicle while they are next to me. I set it in their tv gently, and tell them the tv is very fragile, be careful with it. I let them close the door/trunk. That day, or a few days later, they tell me there is a crack inside the tv. Normally I tell them transportation is their responsibility and normally that is the end of it. Has anyone had a customer that was not buying this...

                    I have a Mb LA-A993P REV 1.0 computer, I am guiding myself with these two shared boards. ;
there are some ICs that are not the same, in this case those of the PU1501 (JD4TB) and PUH1 (NF4SA) images.
                    n, please identify.

                    330mA of consumption after 8 seconds turns off. +3VALW AND +5VALW present, EC_RSMRST# , LID_SW# , EC_ON# , ACIN# present.

SUSP# NOT PRESENT, which would be this the problem does not turn on sub-sources Any leakage?

I also notice that in the PLH2 coil that belongs to +1.05VS according to the drawings I am not sure,

Surface Pro 7 - SLP_S4 present, then gone
                    by Prott
                    Hello fellow Badcappers,
I have a problem with stubborn Surface Pro 7. I narowed it down to disappearing SLP_S4# (gone after around 200 ms).

Everything else works as it should (the whole power on sequence succesfully finishes, all the voltages are present) until this signal goes missing - with it missing the AND gate causes ALL_SYS_PWRGD to go back low and this makes VCCIN drop to 0 V as well. Interestingly the SLP_S4_DRV# signal from SAM is still present for a second, even after SLP_S4 is no longer there. I wonder what could either cause PCH to stop sending the signal or what...
