    Lenovo Z50-75

The laptop Lenovo Z50-75 was dead. There was the first input mosfet (marked 4407) shorted. I replaced it; now, when I push On/Off button, CPU cooling fan starts for about a second and stops. Current( checking on power supply) goes to almost 0A.

What should I check next ?How to continue with the repair?
    Thank you for help

    Re: Lenovo Z50-75

The board has a number you did not share and for Lenovo's there a often schematics available. You did not share any picture, any designation or measurement so far, so it is impossible to confirm from our side you've actually worked on where you assume you worked on.

Right now we have almost nothing to work with, except a mosfet model without any relation.

I thought I made clear what we need to begin with proper troubleshooting. Do you have replaced PQ6? And if so, with which part (make/model)?

          Re: Lenovo Z50-75

Yes, I replaced PQ6 with the same mosfet (4407).
When I connect mainboard to power supply ,RAM inserted, it takes about 28mA. ( without pressing power button).
When pressing power button ( by connecting pins on mainboard on GP2 connector),
current goes up to about 190mA and stays there as long as I am pressing the power button. As soon as I release it, the current drops to those 28mA.

          Where can be a problem?
          Thank you for help

PQ6,pin4 voltage after replacing it? Standby consumption at 28mA seems bit high.

              Pin 4(gateway) of PQ6 is 4.77V

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 laptop mosfet issue
                by ebyte64
                Good day everyone.

I have been scratching my head with a Lenovo laptop I got in today.

The laptop had no power and taking no amps from the power supply. Checking voltage showed 20v only on one side of the first mosfet. Took it off and replaced it and then same story. Took off second mosfet and then the first mosfet had the right voltages as well as 25v on gate is it should. Replacing the second mosfet the problem started again.

Even using a wire to bypass the second mosfet does the same interference with the first mosfet.

                Would anyone...

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
                by Jane
I tried to use this method:

                Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

                No power - Mosfet ? ? on Lenovo - IdeaPad 3 17ITL6 - Motherboard HS760 NM-D473
                by samstown
                Hello

I've got a Lenovo that stopped working. No sign of life at all. I was hoping it would be an easy fix but I am not sure it's mosfet, I think resistance should be low but it's OL.

Thermal camera show MOSFET heartbeat.... It's Sinopower SM4377.

                Thanks
                Sam...

                Lenovo Y700-17ISK mosfet to replace
                by madjid911
HI, I have a Lenovo Y700-17ISK laptop (motherboard BY511 NM-A541) which does not start anymore.

I found the fault, it is a power input mosfet 6414A which is in continuity, it is part of the two fuses powered by the BQ24 manager.

I found a PKCH2BB mosfet in stock to replace it. is it not dangerous to put one with much more amperage for this use?

                6414A N-CHANNEL 30V 30A
                PKCH2BB N-CHANNEL 30V 228A

I am not an expert, your help is precious, thank you....
