    MacBook A1707 820-00928-A 20V - No boot

Hey, got this macbook in and it's a little strange.

The device (no battery connected) starts at 20V 1.4A, then drops to 0.9a, and then to 0.09a.

The boot sequence seems to complete, but the CPU goes to 100 degrees celcius within 2 seconds, and you can hear a current-like sound coming from it. UB000 and U8605 get hot as well, but no more than 50 degrees celcius. U1100 spikes to 70 degrees celcius as well.

    PPVCC_S0_CPU measures around 1V.

I'm tempted to say the CPU is toast, but seems so strange since there is no liquid damage or anything. The only weird this is that I found some metal flakes next to the CPU, but I'm assuming these are from the screw hole from the heatsink, altho the other spots don't have this. Included a picture of this.

Anything I could check to make sure?

    MacBook A1707 820-00281 Boot Loop
    by Strolch
I opened my good MacBook A1707 2017 to take measurements. I measured pin 43 and 1 yesterday to compare with my defective A1707 ;-( now the MacBook doesn't start either. The gong only comes on every 5 seconds! It's in a boot loop. At the beginning, the apple came up too the display. But now only gong every 5 seconds! All my data are on the Mac. Shit

[Macbook pro A1708] [Boot loop] [Trackpad ?]
    by No Lan
    Hey everyone,

Usually, I'm not the type to ask for help, but this time, I'm calling on your wisdom and expertise I've seen what this community can do, so I'm pretty sure you guys can help me out.

Here's the deal: I noticed my MacBook got stuck in a boot loop. After opening it up and doing some initial troubleshooting, I found that the boot loop stops only when the trackpad is unplugged.

Now, just so you know, the trackpad actually works — I tested it with another motherboard and it's all good. Same for the cable, no issues there. The problem is only...

Macbook a1707 820-00281 Battery no Power
    by leonemax81
Hi guys I have a Macbook a1707 with motherboard 820-00281, without liquid damage that behaves strangely, with the battery connected the Macbook does not turn on and the USBC meter stops at 5v in loop, when I disconnect the battery the Macbook turns on and works fine, I have already tried to replace the battery twice without success, as soon as I connect the black cable of the battery the Macbook does not turn on, it stops at 5v and in loop.

Macbook Pro mid 2015 battery required to boot?
    by twonk9098
I have read many forums that state the Macbook Pro 2015 needs / does not need a battery to boot. I'm not convinced as yet which is correct.
The Macbook Pro mid 2015 I have has no battery and do not really want to buy one just to test.
This model has the newer trackpad which is not clickable when turned off.
At the moment, without battery it does turn on with no display (with backlight), no chime and then turns off after 13 seconds. I see this from the power draw on my DTPS.
If I hold the power button whilst connecting the magsafe 2 charger it turns on, again no image but...
