    Lenovo G50-80 20V ISSUE

    I have a Lenovo G50-80 motherboard. aclu3/aclu4 UMA NM-A362 REV1.0. That if I connect the charger main power rail voltage moves up and down a maximum of 4v and zero continuously, I opened jumper PJ708 laptop powered on but no vcore of course. If I close the jumper and remove coil pl9 the initial problem remains. Now I have figured out the issue is the PC988 capacitor because if removed the laptop powers on well and displays if I replace the same capacitor from a working board the main problem remains. What might be the problem?

      Remove all power. Check the resistance to ground of the main power rail that is fluctuating.

      What is the resistance?

              This is a good and high resistance. No short on this rail.

              Is this resistance WITHOUT PC988 installed ?

              If yes, the fault is with this capacitor being shorted / partially shorted and causing the voltage rail to swing due to a higher than normal current draw.

              Respectively, measure the resistance across the PC988 component if it is off the logic board and on your work bench. It should continue to show a lower than normal resistance.

              It is a bulk capacitor and ideally should be replaced with this capacitance value or close to. Be cautious of the voltage rating of the cap since this is the high side power rail from your power adapter.

                  try replace PQ40 and check the resistance after.

                      I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected).                       Lenovo ideapad 3 15IL05 - ram issue

                      Hi all,
                      I've encountered an issue I've never experienced before..

                      The Lenovo works perfectly, it has 4gb soldered ram and an additional slot. With just the 4gb the laptop passes all tests, everything is working. However no matter what frequency or capacity of ram I add to the extra slot the display starts artifacting completely randomly in both in the bios and in win and the only solution is to shut down.

                      I've inspected the pins of the extra slot with a magnifying and didn't notice anything unusual. I've also tried multiple ram modules, but the issue is the same....

                      Hi!

                      My Thinkpad X1gen6 (NM-B48) have had issues with thunderbolt for over a year now. No TB3 or HDMI working and the screen randomly flickering sometimes but going away other times. As if there was a glitch in the connection.

                      When it was starting to fail I switched between assist mode and the non assist mode a lot because I didn't understand what was going on and some times it helped.                       reading EC with svod4 Lenovo NM-D271 issue

                      Hello, im trying to read the EC of lenovo NM-D271 butthe files come up empty after read.
                      Im using pinout provided from online database made by Adytia.

                      Pin detection is succesfull and i read in 384 size.
                      I was hoping to have some help to get the EC read succesfully. might be a pinout issue ? if anyone got more info on this id love to hear it.

                      Hello,
                      the mainboard at first booted only sometimes with memory error.
                      After ram rework it boots fine but the new issue is no backlight.
                      Display did not had any issue so I guess something from the motherboard.
                      At the JEDP1 I have 19V at pins 1 & 2, DISPOFF# at pin 15 is 0V and INVT_PWM at pin 16 is 2,82V.
                      Same values are with lid closed.
                      Lid switch works ok when tested with windows software.
                      Is there something else I'm missing?
