    I2C communication !

    Hello,

I would like to know on average how many chips in a laptop uses the I2C protocol to communicate and which one.

I know the battery, BQ24735 and the ITE uses SDA and SCL but is there other chip that do ?

And the SDA, SCL pins always needs to be pullup to 3.3V, no matter what if the laptop turns on or not, right ?

    Thanks !

    Re: I2C communication !

No firm answer and will vary with the board design.

I2C and smbus are similar. Both are open-drain pins so the pull-up voltage can also vary to suit. For example, can be 5v, 1v8, etc.

        Touchpad also uses I2C

There are many more, most used
          RAM module for SPD
          Internal display for EDID
External display (VGA,HDMI) also for EDID
          Also some others like
          some axis accelerators,others sensors,battery management,backlight control,

            BQ24735 - faulty?
            by Jane
Can you please give your opinion on this matter?

Laptop does not work. I checked voltages of charging circuit BQ24735 .

            Values are :

            pin 20: VCC 19V

            pin 6: ACDET > 2.4V

            pin 16: REGN 6V

            pin 5: ACOK 2.62V

Are these values correct and (if BQ24735 is working in the correct way)

ACDRV (pin 4) should have more than 19V?

Or I must check any other values to be sure to decide that BQ24735 is faulty?

AS I have ACDRV about zero, so I guess BQ24735...

Hello, I have this board that drives me crazy, I can't activate the input mosfets, I have changed the bq24735 with the same result

These are the IC voltages and I also leave a couple of voltages extra

Make MSP430FR5994 wireless MCU as peripheral interface?
            by Andrewerry
            Hi all,
I have an idea according to MCU Communication Peripherals Guide. Under the software guidance on protocol implementations, a confusing problem, wireless MCU CC2650 and CC2640R2F, can they be regarded as communication peripherals controlled by FR5994?

I want to customize a kind of communication hardware, including FR5994, a kind of TI BLE chip, a programmable port for the two chips, a kind of energy harvesting peripheral.

            How can it be done?

            BQ24735 Problem (HP 255 G8)
            by ianbak
            Hi,

I have an HP 255 G8 that runs for as long as its battery holds charge but won't accept AC power.

I have partially diagnosed the problem and the issue seems to be that there is no ACDRV output from the BQ24735 to turn on the two input MOSFETs. The 24735 has a VCC of 19.57 V, the ACDET input is at 2.93 V and the REGN 6V LDO is outputting 5.98 V, so everything looks good - but ACDRV is stuck at 28 mV.

I've already replaced the 24735 and both input MOSFETs and nothing has changed.

I'd appreciate some suiggestions as to what to try next.
