Notebook HP 240 G8 not turning on, charging is ok.

Hai guys, i have a problem with this hp laptop.
I already found there is a problem with power button, usb-c board (see picture) that cause its not turning on.
When i remove this small board, laptop can turn on by shorted the power switch pin with tweezers. (Pin 14 from left side)
But when its attached, laptop wont start when i press the power button.
Already check 3.3V at power button swith, its respond when I press it (0V)

I think maybe i have a problem with usb 3.0 ic here, i just wonder if this is oke to remove the ic, and power in on to test this? Or do i need to find a replacement first before test?

I faced same issue on this very mb. It was a shorted tiny cap on the daughter board. Check each and every cap on this board and hopefully one may be shorted.

Many thanks, I checked all the caps as you told, then I found this cap is shorted (see picture).

Now the hp laptop is turn on normally.

I just remove it, not replacing it because i dont know it value. Is that oke?

Test the unit to see if it remains stable. Stream YouTube videos for a while. If all is well, this part is not critical. Probably a low value bulk capacitor that does not influence the normal operation.

Already tested the laptop for 1 hour, its look normal.
