    iPad Air 2

Hi there, I've got an iPad Air 2 which wouldn't power on originally, however after a cap change on VCC Main it now powers on and shows the Apple logo but it will reboot every 150 seconds essentially being in a bootloop.

I am able to boot the iPad into DFU mode but I am unable to put it into recovery mode no matter what I try. Whether through 3uTools or the plugging the power cable in while holding the home button method.

So my question is: what is the likelihood the NAND is unfortunately dying or dead? Or has anyone else had a similar problem and might be able to give me a couple of things to try before I write this one off and give the unfortunate news I won't be able to retrieve the data?

iPads will boot loop without a good battery, or abscence of gas gauge data.

I'm using a known good battery, that was the first thing we tried.

Can you measure the current draw?

Our power supply shows a consistent 5.17v 0.5A draw. I saw that post but it mentions a completely dead battery so would this method still apply in this case? We've charged the known battery in our spare iPad Air here that boots fine and it has plenty of charge in it as we keep it charged ~50% at most times

There was no obvious loose coil I could find, all seem firmly solid in place

Review the voltage to ground of the smbus lines on the battery connector. Each should not be a low voltage. Post your measurements.

Sorry it took a while to get back, I'm not sure if I'm measuring the correct things (still very new to this) but what I did measure had 3.88v on all except 1 which was 2.04v. I really appreciate the help so far

I tried searching the forum for whether this has been uploaded already, but couldn't find them (as a collection).
Here's a dump of a bunch of iPads, I've split into 2 archives to get under file limit

Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" (A1876) No Power/Charge When Screen Is Connected
                    by grimacelord
                    Hello.

Working on an Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" that has a weird issue. When the display is NOT connected, the iPad will charge and power on normally. I know it's on because I can hear notification sounds and the charging notification sound.

If I connect a brand new display to the logic board, the iPad will not turn on at all. When I connect the iPad to an 18W wall charger and a USB-C ammeter, I can see that the iPad is attempting to charge, but constantly "resets" after just a moment or two.

For example, when I connect the iPad to...

iPad Air A1475 Boot loops after replacing battery
                    by trepachka
This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
                    by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

iPad Pro 12.9 (6th Gen) screen shuts off after unplugging device
                    by SarcasticOP
                    Greetings,

I have an iPad Pro 12.9" 6th gen tablet that had a screen replaced about 10 months ago at a repair shop and last week the screen went blank during use. The device was still on, notifications played sound for example. I have replaced the screen twice, both screens are working until I unplug it, at which point I can see that screen is on but is all black. If I press the power button, the backlight goes off, and when I press it again, the image appears for half a second and then the screen goes back to being black but on. This issue is not present at all when the iPad...
