    820-4924-A Missing PM_SLP_S4_L

    mystery board no history!
no corrosion or liquid damage anywhere.
green light on charger, 24ma power draw.

    PM_SLP_S5_L 0,0v pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L
    PM_SLP_S4_L 0.0v pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L
    PM_SLP_S3_L 0.0v pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L
    PM_SLP_S0_L 0.0v pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L
    PM_SYSRST_L 0.016v no pulse on SMC_ONOFF_L
    PM_S0_PGOOD 0.00v pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L
    SYS_PWROK pulses on SMC_ONOFF_L

    PPBUS_G3H 12.67v
    PP3V3_S5 3.3v
    PP3v3_S4 0.0v
    pch_intruder_l 3.3v
    PM_RSMRST_L 3.3v

    PPVRTC_G3H 3.34v
    RTC_RESET_L 3.33v
    PCH_SRTCRST_L 3.33v
    PCH_INTVRMEN 3.24v
    PCH_DSWVRMEN 3.24v
    PCH_CLK32K_RTCX1 32k
    PM_DSW_PWRGD 3.24v
    PP3V3_SUS 3.33v
    PM_BATLOW_L 3.33v
    PM_RSMRST_L 3.33v
    PM_PWRBTN_L 3.42v
    PP3V3_S5RS3RS0_SYSCLKGEN 3.32v
    PP3V42_G3H 3.42v
    PP5V_S4 0.0v

How bad does the leading edge of the waveform for PCH_CLK32K_RTCX1 have to be to cause issues? it falls at a 90 degree angle but the rise is more of a hill.

U1900 looks great, removed and cleaned just in case.
    reflowed SMC, no dice.

MacBook Air A1466 820-00165-A 5V Rail Pulses (on & off)
      by junda
hi, i also have the same (P5V_S4RS3) MacBook Air A1466 820-00165-A 5V Rail Pulses (on & off) The strange thing is when I kept machine for 1 day and connect the power It powers on with Chime and booots half way with Apple logo and stuck. at that time when I power of and try power up Fan spins for few seconds and goes off with no P5V_S4RS3 and also the P5V_S4RS3 EN pulses on and off with 3,24 V. Plezzz doesn any one can help me

      by mferna14
Hi all , I am working on a Apple MacBook Air A1466 820-00165-A logic board. The problem was no back light & all was working fine. I replaced the Backlight chip but still no display & now it does not even turn on. I replaced with a known good back light chip assuming the soldered chip was shorted. But still no luck. Now I measure voltage rails. 3.3V is perfect but 5V Rail Pulses (on & off). TPS51980A, 5V ENABLE pin 4 P5VS4RS3 EN R also fluctuates on & off. 5V comes & then shut off again. This happened continously. I checked for any short to ground, but none. When I check for...

HP Notebook With Strange Defect Does Not Turn On
      by dclass-pro
Hi Guys, I have a HP DAX12AMB6D0 REV.D with a strange defect, that is on the 2nd mosfet on the power supply, the gate voltage does not reach 25V but pulses... if I try to touch some capacitors with my fingers, the voltage on the gate reaches 25V and the notebook turns on.
I have already tried to change the charging connector, PU1 and PQ20 but I have not obtained any result, the problem still persists.
Here are the voltages that I find ON PU1:
      Pin 1 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
      Pin 2 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
      Pin 3 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
      Pin 4 - Pulses between...

MBA 820-00165 Pulses S0 State then off again every 3sec.
      by lazaro.089
No liquid damage, just a little corrosion on R6125 and R6120 but cleaned it.

Something strange, when I test on diode mode on F7140 (PPBUS_G3H) it beeps for half a second then impedance gets higher.
If I reverse the proves it shows me low impedance but not low enough to beep.
Maybe a Short? or ISNS resistor?

When powered on PPBUS_G3H is 8.6 stable. And tested PP3V3_S0 and PP5V_S0. And it pulses to right voltage and then 0V. It does this every 3 seconds or so.

Philips TV 42PFL3606H/58 (Thriller) (TPM6.1E) PSU problem (wrong Vdd-S)
      by CircuitChaos
      Hi!

I have a problem with a faulty PSU in the TV set (as in title) and honestly I'm stuck on it and could use a bit of advice if you don't mind…

      The PSU's schematics is attached (psu1.png, psu2.png):

It produces +5VSB (standby), but doesn't produce any other voltage (12V, 24V, backlight). To test it, I connected +5VSB to S/B input (and to ENA input to disable the backlight).

After a bit of measuring I came to these conclusions:

      1. +5VSB is produced and stabilized correctly (4.68V with S/B...
