no surprise to see bad caps in this 70's radio.
but who was the idiot that thought a sticker would fix the hole that was DRILLED in that cap?yes it is shorted and opened up a resistor.
this is the bias/screen supply for the p.a section.no screen voltage=no output!

You're right about that sticker covering the hole would not fix the drilled capacitor.
With the 6JS6 (and other) TV horizontal output (sweep) valves, they can have slightly different inter-electrode capacitances between different brands, and may need modifications to the neutralization and feedback circuitry in certain models. This is especially true for this model (any suffix) of transceiver.

this one uses 6146 tubes.i own a bunch of the 101 series.most use the 6js6.
been changing sockets to put 6146's in the older rigs.when you get several hundred milspec ones from drmo auction you use them.

I once opened up a radio and found capacitor guts everywhere, the can loose and two legs sticking out from the PCB. The cap had obviously exploded

yaesu and kenwood made these hybrid rigs into the early 80's.
