Re: HP PSC2355 with likely bad caps
Well wouldn't the backlight dimming in rhythm with the motors point
to a fried bypass cap?
Regardless the problem is I cannot get to the board...

Re: HP PSC2355 with likely bad caps
Thanks for the reply. I had forgotten about this thread.
I can confirm that the same problem occurs with a different power supply...

Re: LED Headlight for Motorcycle
What kind of LEDs?
Measure the voltage drop across the resistor.
I would also measure the current going to each string to make
sure it is within the LED's spec (although you can calculate this from
the voltage drop)

HP PSC2355 with likely bad caps
So I have this HP PSC2355 printer which I suspect
has bad capacitors. Symptoms are frequent
blue error screen (on the printer screen). Failure to start up usually either
a restart loop, a hang or a blue screen. It seems more likely to successfully
start when it is warm.
Also the screen slightly dims in accordance to the activation of the motors.
I suspect caps but the problem is I cannot figure out how to get
access to the main circuit board. Any ideas?

Re: Samxon: good or bad?
This is concerning. Especially with incandescent bulbs being banned
I guess we will find out its real life span but I am betting it won't be as much as claimed at 80C case temp

OK
Well these are suppose to be rated at 25K hours, but I kind of doubt it...

Samxon: good or bad?
So I watching a teardown video on a phillips LED bulb here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWKAub54sLU
Notice very clearly one of the big caps is made by samxon (and an unknown temperature rating)
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't samxon kind of "marginal"?
I have a later revision of that bulb and the base part gets to nearly 80c after a few hours of run time. It seems like that might be a candidate for early failure?
What do you think?https://So I watching a teardown vid...Aub54sLU

Re: Sound Cards sabotage Video!
I think it maybe slowing down drivers and not the bus itself.
the sound driver was backing up your system probably because the sound card was slow to respond.

Re: 1980s stereo repair time!
Actually it may be just FM drift as old radios had it bad....

Can we please drop the subject?

Re: shorted celeron cpu?
No, it means its flowing thru the CPU and it is normal. You must unsolder the cap to test it properly.
P.S. Do not do that anymore because it could cause damage to your board.

Re: I got a hold of some odd caps
not worried about it, usually it works anyway...i know it when an electrical experiment goes wrong and the house fills with smoke.
