Launch Automotive Diagnostic Tool Missing Diode and Cap

Hi there, I need some help identifying replacements for a Launch Diagnostic Plug In Tool. I can't seem to find any information on the LF 7HZPU Diode so I have no idea what to replace it with if anyone can help? Also there is a missing component on the side that I highlighted in green and I assuming it's a cap?

I have added some photos for reference.

The TVS diode is Littelfuse (logo sideways LF), marking code LT gives SMBJ18A. I think the other text is manufacturing info.
The missing part looks like a capacitor (rounded edges) but is that a buck-converter inductor near it?

Looks like this is the part that goes onto the OBD-II port. These TVS diodes are there for protection.

Thanks for the useful info. I found the TVS diode locally, That is a buck-converter inductor yes. What smd cap do you think I can use?

It looks like a power supply cap and likely the same at the other big ones, so a wild guess 10-22uF MLCC at 25-50V to match the package size. Bigger is a safer guess.
I'm surprised the inductor did not get hit and cracked, that would be bad. You could check the many polyfuses as well for physical damage.

The inductor cracked yesterday trying to scrape off that silicone sealant, I'll replace that too. Thanks a lot for your knowledge. I am getting the parts tomorrow. I'll update on the final result.

Finding replacement diode iPad Pro 3rd gen A1701
              by asr
Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

              TV backlight zener diode
              by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

EBC-820 "Apple diagnostic tool" -- does this work?
              by TrumanHW
The EBC-820 relies on the J6100 interface (its unclear if it works on 2018+ either, which'd negate any real value).

IF it does 'debug' issues on newer units, the video shows it providing error codes and 'breadcrumbs' to follow & fix identified issue(s).

Is this a gimmick for suckers (like me)..? Are there better products that are also affordable...?

Lastly, does anyone have suggestions on how to learn how to follow the schematic // boardview to trace problems..? Because even when watching the video it was unclear how certain selections...
