Xbox One S - seems to power up but no video

Working on a Xbox One S. It seems to power up alright, but I'm not getting any video. I tried to perform the video reset by holding the power and eject buttons down, but after about 5 seconds, the machine will power up but I never get the second beep, even after holding for a full minute.

    Where should I be looking?

Excellent question. I had it connected to a PC monitor and never even thought about that. I just connected it to a TV and no, there is no audio. Power LED is on, HDD is spinning and WAIT, it just came on! With video. So then it's just taking forever to boot. I guess just a slow HDD, yeah? Still on the green XBOX ONE screen though. - finally came up on the profile screen. about 5 minutes.

maybe a corrupt or fucked drive
a lot of them use the seagate rosewood drives that destroy the platter coating

you could try a re-install - m$ has the o.s. available to download to a pc to re-image a drive

Will do, I appreciate the help. It is a seagate drive, not sure of the rosewood suffix though. This is purely anecdotal but I own a tech shop and we replace at least 1k hdd's a year. Seagate is the most common name in the stacks and piles.

            Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
            by GLISIT
            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Xbox one S - Dead or No Power
            by Blk_crown
My xbox one s died recently and currently it shows no signs of life. I took it apart and did some troubleshooting using board view to do some voltage checks in areas of interest. It doesn't appear to be a dead short since I get 12v on the caps near the cpu and other voltages like 3.3v, 5v, 1.1v as shown on the board file. I didn't check every point as that would take forever. When I look at it from my thermal camera, the Southbridge chip has a little glow on it when plugged into power.

The power switch on the detachable face board seems to be fine when using the multimeter to check....
