If it is the base model with HDD/Fusion drive this is no surprise. No need for schematics to take care of that…

Thank you! Yes, believe it is a fusion drive. In the defense of the nerd herd team at the Apple store, they too suggested to replace the drive to a SSD. Will investigate.
